Hello so I am trying to write a relationship in my novel but I don't want it to feel forced or cliche. Basically the girl is technically a princess, but her kingdom was ambushed and her father was killed, etc. She managed to escape the slaughter with the help of a knight (who is a shapeshifter who can shift into an Elder Lynx - a mythical beast which is essentially a really large lynx)
ANYWAYS the novel begins whilst they are on the run in the middle of the forest. Not too sure whether they have been on the run for a while now or whether it has only been a few days. But the point is I want Ser Dresden (the knight) to fall in love with Lady Lois, but how do I do this in a cute subtle way???
How to write a shippable couple readers with froth over?
The more drawn out it is the more people will obsess over it. Avoid making it obvious really early in the book. Maybe hint at it a little once they've known each other for a while. I'd suggest making it more significant towards the end. If you make it seem natural then it won't feel forced and love takes time
@Reblod thank you! This really helps!
