I think El sounds great!
Your Mannerisms are very original and creative; Uncommon, yet believable.
Is it normal (in your book's universe) for a tenth grader to be a pilot?
The Star Wars snap back. . . Maybe he could be wearing it in the illustrations? If it's his prized possession, I imagine El, sporting a Star Wars snap back and smiling somewhat evilly as he crazily drives a plane into a cliff.

In the end, I thought El sounded flat at first, but as I read up on him, he sounds well built-up and you seem to know him like a brother. He is a creatively generated character, and I hope you keep me updated on him story :)

Btw the thing with being a pilot is that's later on when he's an adult I just put it down so I can remember
