How do I disable the keyboard shortcuts?

While trying to write a document, when I start typing "Ni" [Shift + n + I] (for Nicholas) it takes me to the creation page for items. I experimented a bit and pressing "Nu" [Shift + n + u] takes me to the creation page for universes. I want to disable this behavior so I can write certain names starting with N

Also why does the Edit button in Documents open it in a new tab instead of the same tab like View does?

Good catch.

A new release just went out that makes a few changes to this:

  • Keyboard shortcuts are now automatically disabled when you're editing a document
  • Enabling/disabling keyboard shortcuts (across all pages) is now a setting in your account settings page
  • Side-note: keyboard shortcuts have been expanded for all premium page types also, not just free ones :)

That should help, so you shouldn't be accidentally whisked away to other pages while writing now. Do let me know if it's still happening to you anywhere though, there might be some browser-specific bugs to hammer out still.

The "Edit" button on Documents opens up in a new tab because the sidebar is hidden by default and originally some people complained that they were losing tabs but… I think the design's matured enough that I can revert that soon and keep all our tabs nice and clean. I'll straighten that out soon.

Awesome!! That seems to have taken care of that! 😀

I tested both with and without keyboard shortcuts enabled and it's not redirecting anymore, good stuff 👍
