I'm trying to dm my friend but their name isn't coming up when I search it in the participants box. I can't figure out what the problem is??

It is possible that your friend hasn't filled in a username for themselves under settings. I tried to send a message but because I hadn't created a username for myself yet, it wouldn't work.

Also, check whether their username starts with an @ or not. If you're not sure, try both ways.
