Ask me about my ships

Not fictional ones - I mean real ships. I know a lot about boats, naval warfare, and just general maritime history. Viking boats, turtle boats, U-boats, all ships are valid here.

Aw i got all excited thinking that we could talk about Percabeth and Susan and Calories and Vender

@doug

ok Percabeth is a good ship though, I support it. Sail on!

PERCABETH AHHH GORGEOUS BUT UNCLE RICK SPLIT UP JASPER IN THE NEW TOA BOOK AND THEN (SPOILER ALERT) KILLED JASON LIKE NO.

Alright, in terms of actual boats, what's the best kind of rigging for a large, wide-bottomed ship? I plan for it to sail on sand, so there will need to be some liberties here, but this thing is 5 stories tall without any masts. It's made of solid (as in strong) wood, but what would the sails need to be like? How many? I'm an Air Force child, so I have no idea.

What’s TOA?

So, what would the structure of a small, lightweight (I'm thinking a crew of about 30) military-esque vessel be like (using modern tech)?
