Hi! I’m just your average guy (ftm) who is also trans, trying to survive high school and get into an art college! I am autistic and I deal with a lot of crap for being who and what I am but I thought maybe making a chat for people to ask me more taboo questions and even debate me on stuff might be a fun way to burn some rage off! No questions are stupid, all opinions are valid, and even if you’re a hater you are welcome to be here as long as you don’t harass anyone else on this chat or website. I can take a lot, but I doubt others want to deal with my bs so if you feel like commenting on me and my life in a negative way go ahead! Just stay away from people who don’t want to deal with any negativity because frankly, this is a safe(ish) space for everyone (this does not include like literal nazis, but even terfs can come after me I don’t really care.) and I want to make everyone who welcomes others feel welcomed!

Another thing! I am looking for trans and nonbinary folx to share their experiences! I’m open to all, but I’d especially like to be able to pick the brains of trans mtf folx, nonbinary, genderfluid, and neopronoun users as well as xenogenders and more! I’m super motivated to learn and grow, and honestly I’m very hopeful that a few of the speakers here might also be happy to moderate the chat while I’m away so everything stays friendly!

A little bit about me:

I’m 17, almost 18
I’m autistic and ftm trans
I love snakes a ton and reptiles generally (not amphibians, they know what they did)
I’m a comic artist in the making (knock on wood)
I roleplay as people different from me so I can learn about people different from me via being forced to research a tonnnnn of stuff in order to be accurate to real life and to make my characters more dimensional.
I have religious trauma and sexual trauma that y’all can also ask me about
I don’t know what the hell my sexual and romantic orientation is but I sure don’t care! Love is love, and while I may be forever alone I am happy with me!!
I have two cats, a dog, and a lesser tenrec as pets! The tenrec is my favorite and the dog is my even more favorite ❤️
I have dated one trans man and zero anybody else. He was not a great partner for complex reasons but also not a bad person.
I want to be an art and literature professor when I'm older, and maybe teach comics!

Again, no questions are off limits, even the sarcastic and “in bad faith” ones. I literally will answer anything. Just remember that everyone here is human behind the screen, and at the end of the day we are all trying our best to be happy and make the world a better place.

Hmm, well I definitely do some of that. I have a few chest binders that I rarely use due to having medically unexplained shortness of breath pretty much constantly, so it’s not always the safest for me. I don’t use makeup because I hate the way it feels on my face, except for eyeliner, some slight lip tint like lip stain, and brow pencils because I dye my hair and like my brows to be the same color as my hair. I also wear some pretty masc fits but I sometimes dress more fem to fit in at fancy events such as homecoming etc and also because my dysphoria is lower some days and I like to be pretty on very rare occasions. I also plan on getting like alllll the piercings and tattoos, as well as going on t and getting top surgery when I am older.

Oof I feel you. My dad is the type of conservative that does whatever my liberal mom says… he hates my transition but won’t really do anything to stop it, since my mom has openly threatened to divorce him if he did anything to hurt me. That says a lot about their relationship that he will bend his bad morals to make my mom feel loved and safe, idk how healthy that is but it works for them and I do care about my parents.

Hello! I'm genderfluid and I too am trying to survive high school lol. I'm just curious but what art mediums do you enjoy/use the most? I personally love doing art myself and am debating whether I should maybe look into an art college, so I was also wondering if there was any specific criteria you're looking for in an art school as well

I love digital art, watercolors, and plain ol’ pencil and paper! I want to go to a college in my own state ideally, but would travel outside of it if there was a really good school there. I dream to be in the MFA Comics program out in the California College of the Arts as my favorite author/artist, Maia Kobabe, studied there and I literally love em.

That's so cool! Californian colleges seem super cool (tbh all colleges/universities outside of my state seem infinitely better than where I live, but California is still amazing), I hope you'll be able to get into your dream school!

actually, i do have a few. as a person with adhd (sorry if this sounds dumb), i've always been a bit confused by the autism spectrum, since i was told it's similar to adhd, but also that they're not really close at all (sorry if that a hard question to answer). and, you're a trans guy right? as i said, im polygender so my transition process is probably way different, so i kinda just wanted to ask how you knew?

Yea, I’m a trans dude (ftm). But on the autism remark, it’s honestly more marked by a lack of social skills and understanding as well as sensory stuff than anything else. I basically just have a lot of trouble reading people and connecting with other humans, as well as if certain things like towels or yarn touches me I will cry lol. It’s like… hard to explain, and way more complicated than all I can say here but I encourage you to use google and learn more for yourself!

ALSO, how do i get a masculine haircut that makes me look like a dude without looking like a girl trying to smudge gender norms??? (im all for gender equlity btw, i just eeally wanna know how to look masculine T^T)

Ok, update!! Wednesday I finally got authorized to go on T, and it’s finally happening!! I just need to wait for prior authorization from my insurance, and then I can finally start!! I’m using testosterone gel for now, and I’m super excited to start!! I’m going to record my experience on here so others can get a good understanding of what happens and what to expect, and I will also hopefully be able to share advice for those who intend to go on T someday. Ultimately it’s very exciting for me and I am so happy I’ve gotten to this point in my life where I can be my full, authentic self. Gender affirming care is lifesaving care, and I’m so excited to be who I’m becoming.
