Tell me about dyslexia ples

I'm trying to write a novel, and I want one of my main characters to have dyslexia. The story doesn't revolve around that, but I still want it to be a part of her character. I'm currently doing my own research, but if I could hear from some people who actually have dyslexia that would be wonderful!
