Hey! We're The Mezzo System, a DID system with all sorts of fracked-up trauma-based disorders. Along with DID, we deal with PTSD, general and social anxiety disorder, and depression. so, i was the first one who rian found(malachai). basically, rian was thought to be lost in imagination and found my, noah, and the littles' cabin. i was the only one home at the time. we had a lively conversation, and then everyone else gets home. noah stopped dead in his tracks. he asked who it was, and i nodded. he muttered a string of curse words, and we explained everything we knew. inner world, other alters, DID, all of it. of course, it was system meeting knight, so rian met everyone but jacob(who switched out). rian realized that was the memory gaps and dissociation. yada yada yada, communication work, MEZZO!

well, rian created the world to cope with trauma. that's all this disorder is. we(the alters) then expanded the world to what it is now, and it will grow and change with time.

you'd be surprised what an abused two-year-old will make up to cope. a lot of people think it's fake but it's not. it's real and valid. you can google it, i'm sure mayo clinic has more information.

go ahead. yes, ri was two, and kaire split off as an "imaginary" big sister who knew how to help and shit and the rest of us split and surfaced as time went on and more shit happened.

And I can say that what @TeamMezzos-Bro-Is-10!! is saying adds up. Different identities can have their own age. They can also have a different race or gender.

each alter has an indepentent thought process and form in-system. we have a mute alter, one of our friends who's a system has a physically handicapped and requires a wheelchair(laron from acrylic chasers, acrylic and aether on yt), and we don't know why. every system is unique.
