I wanna talk to someone about my newfound obsession known as ace attorney ! I bought the mobile trilogy version during winter break and started playing it the last week of December if i remember correctly. i'm currently playing justice for all, case 2 and have been watching the anime as well.

Oh man, ace attorney is fun! I really enjoyed the anime but I played the first game and cried several times because it is apparently the perfect cocktail of stress for me haha. Favorite case so far?

my favorite case is either turnabout goodbyes or turnabout samurai. rise of the ashes is also a good one though… what about you, Sage? Do you have a favorite case?

I'm also watching the available stageplays on youtube (still on the first one, only an hour left to go) and been working on my ace attorney spotify playlist and….I've gotten up to the point where i ended up making some aa ocs whoops

To where you are right now, Turnabout Goodbyes has to be one of my favorite cases. I was very invested in it, and I still remember so much about it. It was a memorable and interesting case, one of my favorites in the trilogy, really!

talking about turnabout goodbyes, the fact that you have the option to present the picture of his dead father to the defendant and having Maya stop Nick before the picture is even shown to the defendant is kinda insane

(I found out about this by reading the transcript of the case)

Oh, I didn't know about that! It makes sense that she'd stop him, though. I don't think the defendant wants to be reminded of his father's passing. The traumatic event changed his life forever, after all.

a couple of minutes into turnabout goodbyes and i was already absolutely tired of Manfred von karma and the scaredy cat judge. and when i thought things were going my way (or phoenix's) shit happens. I swear this case caused me to lose my mind a couple of times. but the almost Christmas means it wasn't Christmas and Nick cross examinaing the parot are some pretty iconic moments ngl. At least I won't have to deal with Manfred anymore since he's pretty much dead hehe

Yeah, I also hated dealing with Manfred von Karma, even if I had only ever seen gameplay. I despise him as a person and he deserves to rot in hell. Credit to the writers for making such a challenging and horrible villain, but seriously, I was so happy to know that he would be sent to prison and likely executed. He deserves it. He was responsible for the DL-6 Incident, orphaned a nine-year-old boy, traumatized him for life, and all because the person he killed ruined his perfect record? Wow- I despise him and hope that he suffers for eternity.

I actually forgot about how it left Maya and Mia orphaned as well, so good correction there. He ruined so many people's lives, and while he acted like taking care of the boy he orphaned made up for all of it, it didn't. He just made his life hell, considering how he used to be obsessed with perfection and has closed himself off entirely. Even his own daughter couldn't have had a wonderful life. She's also heavily obsessed with perfection and was a prosecutor from the age of thirteen. That's unnatural. She's not a good person, especially considering how she uses a whip in court, but Manfred definitely had a huge role to play in why she turned out that way. Through the DL-6 Incident and in general, he ruined so many lives.
