He's a bit more stoic than most people, and has a mysterious air about him. He rarely talks about his past or why he ended up where he is, the only thing that can be inferred is that he used to be in the military to some degree because it's a requirement for being a guard. Other than that, it takes a lot for him to be open to someone about his emotions or anything. He's pretty sensitive and doesn't want to be judged too harshly, especially on something like his past. So he just doesn't talk about it if he can help it. This leads to people seeing him as cold and uncaring, but he really does care deeply about a lot of people and is the type to get too invested in fictional characters.

He wants to find someone to settle down with, and also wants to be able to protect them from harm. He wants strongly to be the breadwinner of the family, so he can feel like he's accomplished by providing for someone in life.

He's not low on empathy, but he does act like it. He can also be pretty extreme with his beliefs, leading to destructive actions or tendencies. He's really not the best person, and can be bad at giving love to his partners or friends, he tends to isolate himself and lose friendships (sometimes intentionally, because he can't handle confrontation).

He's actually pretty good with weapons, mostly swords/knives but he's learning to use the relatively recent (in canon) technology of guns. If you wanna get shanked in an alleyway, he's the guy to piss off. He's also very loyal to people, not wanting to leave them unless they've done something to really set him off (which is hard).

He really doesn't have any. He gets home from work and just crashes until it's time to be at work again.

Since he's introduced in the last third of the story, he doesn't get much of an arc. Most of his development is about him opening up to Ansila and learning to trust him, but it's implied that after the end of the story that he'll settle down and stop considering Literal Terrorism as a good idea (it's not).

He's very convicted in what he believes, but he's not quite willing to cut people off over it. He thinks this makes him "not convicted enough". He's one of those overthrow the government types, but not the whole government. Just monarchy 2.

His parents raised him on the traditional religion, so he's kinda religious but not really. Mostly questioning it, more agnostic than anything, definitely doesn't practice, but he does understand why people would be religious.

He hates the fact that nobles exist. He thinks that they just ignore the interests of the common man, aka the majority, and that they should be murdered, preferably, exiled if he's feeling nice. He's not willing to actually act on these opinions or share them, but he definitely has them. He resents the idea of a ruling class and wants a monarch he thinks will actually care for the people. No one tell him that's a pipe dream.

He likes the winter and thinks the heat sucks. He and Saura are diametrically opposed that way (and other ways, but yknow).

He doesn't have very strict preferences when it comes to men. He doesn't really have a "type" but he isn't attracted to just anyone. It's really hit or miss who he's attracted to, he really doesn't know or care.

He is no longer in contact with his parents. He hates them and doesn't want to think about them. His mother especially was abusive towards him in childhood and his father was sorta absent while still being in the home. It was not a good situation, and he wants to forget it ever happened.

No one he actively talks about. He did have a boyfriend for a couple months in school, but it wasn't very serious.

Nobody. He's generally pretty slow to hate a singular person, but he does hate the current system of the country and nobles as a class. There's not a single person he points to as an enemy.

Tall and muscular and won't let you forget it. Will hold your things above you while you jump to try and get it like a middle school bully, but out of love. If he didn't work out he'd probably be a little twig man, though. His face and his body do not match whatsoever.

The most notable part about his face is the freckles all across the center of it. He has upturned thin lips, making him look like he's smiling just a bit all the time. He has a heart-shaped face.

His hair is a middling blonde, medium thickness, and curly. The back and sides are cut short, but the top is long enough that it comes down to just about the top of his ears. His bangs fall into his face quite often, but aren't long enough that he can't see.

He has grey eyes, and they usually look kinda intense. His eyes are sort of small on his face, and make him look like he's glaring a bit, which is a bit jarring overall.

Usually just his uniform, but when he's not in uniform he likes to wear white, and things that look relatively formal like button-downs. He always kinda looks like a disheveled businessman if he's not at work. Formal wear who.

His childhood was not good. His parents were never in the most amazing place financially, but once they had him they had a run of bad luck and ended up in a very bad situation money-wise. His father took to drinking and was out of the house more and more, whereas his mother saw it as Pere's fault that their lives had fallen apart. She didn't outright physically abuse him, but was very emotionally abusive, and his father never cared enough (or was around enough) to stop it. It was a very toxic situation and Pere always knew it was abnormal and bad, and he wanted to get out as soon as he could. His upbringing taught him that the state of the world and of economics tore people apart, and that the people at the top didn't even care. Whether he's right or wrong, that was what he took away from his life, and it informs almost everything he believes today. He hopes to never have to think about his childhood again.

He stopped schooling once it was no longer mandatory (age 15). At 16 he joined the military, but got out as soon as he could.

He joined the military at 16 to get away from his family and hopefully build a better life for himself, but he absolutely hated it. He slogged through almost two years of it, never seeing a lot of real combat, before leaving and deciding to use his military credentials to become a hired guard instead. At that point, he was hired by Saura's family and started working there. The rest is history; just boring stuff.

He can imbue objects with properties, think like minecraft enchantments. He uses it very infrequently though, and doesn't even know he can do it until Ansila teaches him.

Leaving him alone and not pushing his boundaries. That's only half a joke. If someone respects his boundaries, he will love them forever. Since he hides so much, people often try to coax it out of them, but he really will only give information of his own free will, and saying no gets really tiring. So for someone to just accept him as he is, missing information and all, that's the biggest compliment he can ever recieve.

Works as a hired guard, sorta like a mercenary who just guards stuff. Has been working for Saura's family for around 6 months before the story starts.
