Two loving parents, no siblings, only distant cousins who kept to the area. Fell in love with Russell at first sight and determined she had to have him. His past has never bothered her a lick, nor is she in any way afraid or put off by them. If, years later, James had not stepped in to soothe the tensions between Russell and the Bailey clan, Vivian would have stepped in herself and handled things, as she does.

Doesn't speak much of the event that led to James' conception; she was brutally honest with Russell, who knows as much as she does, but otherwise has never spoken of it to anyone. Everyone local knew that there was no way Russell was James' father, the baby would have been born too early, but since they were married no one spoke up about it.

She loves her children fiercely and is desperate for grandchildren to dote on. Yes, it has given her quite the trouble that neither child has even settled down yet, much less looked at children.

Vivian is the matriarch of the family through and through - while her husband is content to stay to the background, Vivian must be front and center and is very much in charge of the lives of her children. She is the type of mother who would have the children call her at least once a day, if she could; as it were, they keep her to at least once a week unless they can find excuses to go longer. Ellen manages this more than James, since she no longer lives anywhere near them and is in a totally different time zone.

While this isn't so much a magical ability (or is it?? :eyes: no it's not lol) Vivian always tends to have a sixth sense for the things going on around her and in the lives of those she cares for. This is less because of anything magic and more just that she is as sharp as a tack, with subconscious levels of cold and hot reading alongside the ever classical "mom sense".

She is also, by virtue of being a complete extrovert, a total social butterfly, and a mom personality, someone who has connections literally EVERYWHERE. To this day James is still frequently shocked how Vivian will casually reference someone famous, or pull a name out of the air she shouldn't know, all because it is a relative or a friend or a connection to someone she knows. Her social circle is huge, spans the country and at certain times the globe, and can snoop around through this web born out of sheer Wisconsin librarian mom-ness, get any information she wants or needs.

Thanks to James' connections, the family home is warded and protected from attackers, both mundane (casual robbers going after the old folks and the like) and sinister (such as people who have discovered the clan connection somehow or are after James).

Her wedding rings is also imbued with protection magic. This defensive ward activates whenever there is something that is considered a danger to Vivian's health or life and will stop any incoming attack and buy time for Vivian to get to safety. The ward has a 30-second active window, and can activate 5 times in total before the ring goes on a cooldown.
