For reasons unknown, Mowser is quite a bit different from your average Doopa Troopa. He's a good seven feet tall – two feet higher than normal – and has sharp spines and horns growing all over his body. There's a row in the middle of his skull, stained with bright red dye for intimidation purposes. Spines cover the back of his shell, which is the standard angular fare save for the deep purple color. There are even short spikes jutting from the bottom of his feet, forming them into natural cleats. The menacing red glow of his eyes and short, sharp teeth filling his otherwise turtle-like jaw complete the intimidating picture.

Mowser is as fierce and fiery as any monster tyrant. He desires nothing but power, especially when it's used to lord over others, and he'll do just about anything to get it if given the chance. If something doesn't go exactly how he envisioned it, he goes on a rampage. Blows to his ego will usually set him off too; he likes to keep statues of himself all over his castle to let everyone know who's in charge here. Though he usually isn't too keen on working with others, if he can be convinced that it's in his own best interest, he'll go along with it as long as it suits him.

Fire breath, super strength

Mowser's first line of defense is his minions. If threatened, he will first call upon an army of Doopas to defend him, including his elite Doopatrols and Magidoopas. Should this not prove enough, he uses his fire breath, claws, and cleats to attack, switching wildly between moves to keep his opponent on their toes. When desperate, he can also duck into his shell and use a speedy spin attack.

Tyrant king of Marshroom Kingdom (at least, in his dreams)

Mowser's entire goal in life is to steal the Star Wand. He's also been known to kidnap Princess Pear and hold her for ransom, though it's just means to an end. He leads an army of Doopa Troopas that mostly live in his castle. Pipe Man is often the one to fight him back and put a stop to his nefarious plots.

"When I was a hatchling I dreamed of ruling the world! I haven't gotten there yet, but when I next get my claws on the princess, Marshroom Kingdom will know the true meaning of fear! GWAHAHAHA!"

"I would NEVER stoop so low unless there was something in it for me!"

"If I hurt someone, it is VERY intentional, trust me."

"Climbing trees is WAY beneath me. I'd sooner get a Doopatrol to do it."

"I, er... The red color of the spikes on my head isn't... uh, it's not totally natural. But if you tell ANYONE, I'll tear you to PIECES! GWAAARRR!"

"The day, because everyone's awake for me to boss them around!"

"My throne! Not that I care for it MYSELF, I make the Doopatrols do that. But it must be perfectly shiny clean at all times!"

"I'm good at bossing people around, and I like it because I get people to do what I want!"

"What- What kind of question is that? Why would I live anywhere but my glorious castle?!"

"Not at the moment, but if I found the right Doopa Troopa, I MIGHT consider having a queen by my side once I've enslaved all of Marshroom Kingdom."

"I, uh... Umm. Don't tell ANYONE this, but I... I talk to my statues at night! Yeah, the ones of my mug. They don't judge me when I'm... not feeling like myself! I swear, if you let that get out, I will BURN you to a CRISP! GWARRRRR!"

"Nothing except for the fact that I DON'T have the princess in my clutches right this second!!"
