Overview
Ebony Evangeline Fidèle
The powerhouse of the cell
Ebony Evangeline Fidèle is extremely loud and rambunctious, often out every single day to socialize or to help out at her neighborhood's bakery. She has friends in every place she mingles in and if she doesn't, she makes a point of meeting new ones. Her social life is busy and it fills up most of her schedule outside of work, where she delivers supplies to various places (as well as Prial commissions). On occasion, she'll work with Blair on missions, though she rarely takes any of his cut, no matter how much she insists. Although she's fairly well-known everywhere she goes, she is also familiar to the Regime. She attends a good amount of protests and riots, as well as runs or assists in making some. Ebony doesn't really make an effort to keep herself anonymous, but she does limit herself enough to keep out of jail (though she's had her fair share of probation). She makes sure to keep these activities hidden from her father.
Speaking of, she has a very good relationship with her father, albeit a distant one. Her mother left early on in life, and she never clarifies why. She stays with only her father, and anywhere else she stays is usually a friend's house for sleepovers. Ebony's father works from home, cleaning and taking care of the two of them, and Ebony helps out with the bills and chores. He knows most of the things that go on in her life, and one of the only things she keeps from him is her streak of rebelling (and also habit of getting absolutely wasted from time to time).
Despite her extreme nature, Ebony isn't very prone to violence at all. In fact, she seems to hate when she needs her weapon, even if it's to get rid of a small Dealer. She could care less that Blair's jobs require him to steal from people, but she stops any sort of intervention if Blair were to get into conflict. The both of them work together well like this, unwilling to really fight and instead run away. Ebony herself holds well in actual physical conflicts, proven by her drunk bar fights at BCB, but never truly instigates anything.
Blair is her best friend, and she would say that even if she thinks Blair's ramblings of his brother were a little bit out of control. She wants to believe him, she really does, and she does think something is amiss. She isn't sure if she should pull back up even deeper memories at the cost of helping him, however.
She seems to have a very strained relationship with her mother. For what reason, she never says. Mostly, she avoids the topic altogether.
She makes her hatred of the Regime very well known, often joining protests or starting protests because of it. These protests of hers aren’t very organized, though, mostly these manifest as bar fights she gets into with people.
She doesn’t seem to like using thinner swords or guns, though she is fairly proficient in both.

Ebony uses a broadsword in combat. As the strongest character in the cast, Ebony is able to swing her weapon around as if it's nothing, at the cost of her speed. She's extremely slow and her attacks are very obvious, but if anything lands on her opponent, there is a chance that they'll simply enter a catatonic state, or have a bone quickly broken. If she for some reason doesn't have it on her, she's experienced enough in hand-to-hand combat to hold herself up. Her hand-to-hand skills aren't the best, but knowing her strength, she doesn't need much technical skill. For some reason, it's clear she holds herself back.
A bit ashen, but fair skin tone
Ebony is EXTREMELY muscular and has a rectangular-ish body shape. She's very fit specifically in her arms and shoulders since she's a heavy lifter.
Mole on the bottom of her left eye.
Later on, a few scars on her shoulders from combat wounds.
Nature
Ebony is very very outgoing and adventurous. She's loves living life and doing things for the thrill of it--she also loves socializing with other people. She's popular and well-known in the areas she frequents for multiple different reasons, some good, some bad. Overall, she seems very cheerful and happy with life.
In closer relationships, you can see she's very childish. It's not something she's exactly embarrassed about, but it is something that people have told her before, and when she takes it "too far," she knows she weirds people out. Often being into older media or more "childish" things, she brushes it off as the nostalgia factor. More specifically, however, she is very heavily connected to as much as she’s scared of her past, but it seems like she wants to go back as far as she can to enjoy things at a time where she wouldn't be ridiculed.
It's hard to see it when she's sad. She doesn't like being super upset about anything, not only because she dislikes the feeling itself, but she hates how it effects others around her. Ebony enjoys bringing other people up, and when she's the reason someone is sad, she takes it upon herself to fix. This results in her shying away from anything that makes her upset in any way. It doesn't take a lot for her to open up, though.
Ebony NEVER stays still ever. She hops in place, goes up and down on her toes, shifts her balance every few seconds, you name it. She doesn’t necessarily fidget with her hands or anything, but she literally can’t make her entire body go still.
She tends to ramble about things, not really over explaining, but giving people useless information they are simply flavor text for whatever she’s saying.
Help out her father and Blair Serapis (Lin Zhiyou). Ever since her mother left, her father has spent a lot of time at home trying to raise her. Once grown, Ebony decided to spend more time at home both to help with the house and for her father’s company. Along with this, after Blair woke up from his coma, Ebony stuck by him. She hangs around Blair not out of pity—they’ve been best friends since children, and kind of the only thing that was relatively good in her childhood besides her dad. She holds him close to her heart.
Ebony really wants to move on from her past. She’s found a place in life where it’s more comfortable than it’s ever been before, and while she does rebel against the Regime and their policies, she would rather not rehash the trauma she experienced. Specifically, she doesn’t want to reopen the wound that her mother has created in her life. She would like to see Blair happy also, and she often thinks that she’ll finally see that once she helps Blair move on as well.
Help people who have been demonized by the Regime. It doesn’t matter if it’s an Ace or not, she would love to see the Regime finally toppled, and she’ll organize riots and the like to get the public to get behind her agenda.
She’s often impulsive and rushes into things when it agitates her. Generally, she goes off her heart and never with her head. Once she feels something extreme, she’ll immediately resolve it herself.
Despite being impulsive, she does hold back from violence quite a bit. Surprising for a person of her caliber, since she’s very physically powerful and capable, but she saves physical confrontation for second to last.
Ebony isn’t the best at dealing with more negative emotions. She loves bringing other people up and being the light of people’s lives, but when it comes to her own personal life, Ebony really internalizes these emotions. She doesn’t like making other people sad because of herself, and so she avoids it entirely.
Has very strong feelings about the Regime. She hates anyone involved with the Regime and won’t ever include herself with or befriend people who defends the Regime in any way.
Ebony doesn’t really like people who’re rigid. It isn’t really a hate or even a dislike, she just seems to be more easily bothered by them (ex: Castor (Kazuhiko) Fukushima).
People who hate her friends are immediately her enemies. She’s so faithful and loyal to her company, nearly blindly so, and she doesn’t take the time to even listen to other people’s sides before she starts defending her friends.
If pure physical strength counts, she’s absolutely talented at that. Ebony is one of the strongest characters throughout the series and upholds that for the entirety of it.
She’s very good at getting her point across and rallying people together. A great recruiter, she reads people well and is emotionally in tune with others. This makes her very sociable and empathic—she says the right thing almost every time.
Likes cooking despite not being super good at it. She’s really good at making things like soup and drinks, but when she starts cooking actual meals including meat or anything other than using a pot, she starts struggling. She can follow instructions, but overcompensates for seasoning and temperature control.
Ebony likes exploring, much like Blair Serapis (Lin Zhiyou). She loves finding new things to do just in general, so finding areas she’s never been in fulfills this want.
Does socializing count as a hobby? She loves loves loves meeting people and getting to know others, and while she isn’t the most popular person around especially with her outspoken nature, she is definitely well liked.
Likes: helping people, Blair’s mother’s dumplings, honestly she likes everything before she hates them, playing games, drinking, gambling, socializing, generally just going out for any reason
Dislikes: sailing/car rides (she gets seasick VERY easily), fragile items (this is more of a fear because she breaks things. A lot), thick/scratchy clothing, quiet places, being alone, losing bets/losing money from gambling habits, hangovers
English (fluent). She knows a few French words, though only for jokes. She just looks these up through a translator.
Has c-PTSD and depression. Is unmedicated since she’s only gone to therapy for a little bit, but she does have multiple coping skills to help with it. Usually has nightmares.

History
October 6th
Highschool graduate. Never really thought about going to college after Blair’s incident, and it hasn’t popped up in her head since.
Ebony grows up with her mother and father for the most part. They're a sweet little family, even when her mom is having one of her moods. They almost never yell or scream at Ebony, and everything else mostly lines up with Blair's childhood. She's an only child, so she treasures her friendship with Blair and Wren.
One day, her mother starts acting a bit weird. She's constantly looking over her shoulder and ushering Ebony to stay inside--she drags Ebony outside to train, for some reason. It's self defense, she says, and Ebony suddenly has a new workout routine at the age of 9.
When the Serapis family get into an accident, Ebony spends a lot of time in the hospital, sitting by Blair. She reads to him, tells him what happened that day, and talks to his mother about old memories. She continues her education, and with her newfound confidence through Blair and Wren's friendship, she learns to make new friends. She tells Blair about them too.
Wren's funeral rolls around and Ebony attends, obviously. She cries and watches his coffin be lowered, and then she returns to the hospital, awkwardly watching Blair's mother sob into her hands, and Blair himself lay still in his white gown.
Blair wakes up, and Ebony shouts for his mother.
For a while, she helps him learn how to talk again. In return, he teaches her how to sign. He draws her sometimes, when she's trying to do homework and Blair is just sitting there for company. She still has those drawings in her bedroom somewhere.
Ebony's mother continues to train her, and just as Ebony is getting up at 4am to get started on her routine, she finds her mom standing out on the porch.
There's something she says, and Ebony doesn't understand it. She cries, and watches her parent walk away.
Ebony goes through another blip in time where she's stuck inside her house, only ever happy (or pretending to be, at least) when around her friends or with Blair. He's healing nicely--she's just fallen apart.
She frequents this cafe when she's not at her house, and she's known as a regular. She walks over to No Doze and helps out, just so she can do something, so she can get out of her room and breathe fresh air.
This becomes a bit of a habit. She goes around the neighborhood to see who needs help and doesn't ask for any salary. It helps her, and more importantly, it helps them, and that's what matters.
When Blair fully recovers, Ebony drags him around to introduce to every single one of her new friends. He seems...off.
And so, she asks.
Blair tells her about Wren. About his suspicion.
Ebony is suddenly scared again--not sad, not stuck in her room, but back in her 14 year old body, watching her only best friend breathe.
She doesn't know what to do here. No matter how many comforting words she has, Blair remains unsatisfied.
She cannot fix it.
Mostly a freeloader, but she takes up errands that her neighbors ask her for, and sometimes she’ll stop by her local bakery to help out. She doesn’t ask for any pay, but they give her some anyways. She mostly earns her money through gambling and tagging along on Blair’s mercenary business.
Social
Blair Serapis (Lin Zhiyou) is Ebony’s best friend. As stated, she grows up with Blair. Blair and Wren were probably the only two things she had in her childhood that were actually nice, and when Blair lands in a coma, she takes it upon herself to be there for him, no matter how long it takes. She grows to view him as a brother over time, and when he gets out of his coma, she takes him under her wing to readjust to the waking world. She thinks he’s going a bit far with his Wren theory, though. As much as she loves Blair and would stay by him no matter what, she doesn’t want to revisit some of the most traumatic and painful moments in her life and go on a wild goose chase with it all crumbling on top of her.
Wren was nice at first, honestly. But the more time passed, the more he got standoffish. For what reason, she didn’t know, and she didn’t see much of him after the sudden change in character. When he died and Ebony went to the funeral, she mourned a boy she didn’t even really know, and politely forgot about him until they met again.
Pollux “Lux” (Tatsuhiko) Fukushima and Castor (Kazuhiko) Fukushima were odd, put simply, towards Blair, and they got on Ebony’s nerves a little bit, she will admit. Their personalities were so closed off and one-dimensional too, and before they became friends, Ebony would only say they grated on her more often than not. However, after becoming friends, Ebony quickly got involved in Lux’s insecurities an Castor’s overwhelming anxiety, and she grew to hold them close as well with time.
Elliot Vasco was immediately a kindred spirit. Ebony admired him, and he admired her. They kept each other on their toes, and Ebony was happy to meet someone who not only attuned to her next impulse, but also could fit in anywhere she dragged him to.
Honestly, her hatred of the Regime first stemmed from a personal grudge. It's something she won't talk about, but it is something that developed over time for the treatment of Aces and their antagonism towards the Serapis family.
Wren became complicated when she first realized he was actually back. He was so…angry, and distraught, almost. Ebony had to take a few days to process it, only to fall back into her 14 year old body, watching Blair’s heart monitor, watching Wren’s coffin be lowered, and her mother—
She doesn’t know what’s happening.
Blink “Link” Stratio seems to fight not to kill, but only to defend, is what Ebony concluded. Defending what is a question she wouldn’t be able to answer, but she thinks there’s a flicker in there that proved she could help Blink. How this will happen is something she’ll think of another time.
Mara Quinn is so cheery and bubbly and maybe in another world, Ebony would’ve been her friend. But at the same time, there’s Mara’s sharp smile followed by a quick grimace, and Ebony wonders how exactly a woman so hateful could be good friends with anyone.
Soren Jones is so creepy, Ebony almost can’t stand fighting him. He just stands there, and suddenly you’re reliving your worst moments in life, like some sort of gag reel. He barely says anything, and yet…Ebony’s scared of him. She’s not used to the feeling.
Vincent Cresthill has made an enemy of Ebony because of a specific event. At first, she admired his confidence. Then, the confidence turned into a bloated ego. Then, he did that. And it’s something Ebony will never forgive.
Grew up Christian, started not caring or thinking much about it around the age of 14.
Woke as hell
She honestly doesn’t know, but says it’s peach
Peanuts or chicken noodle soup
Her family portrait, the one including her mother and Blair
Buster sword
Chipmunks, squirrels, or wombats
Family
She's an only child, but considers Blair as essentially her brother.
Never had any, but always wanted a dog.
