A former factory worker from Massachusetts serving time for manslaughter—a crime he deeply regrets. During an argument who had been harassing him for months, in a moment of rage, he shoved a coworker hard enough that they fell, hitting their head on the edge of a metal workbench. The impact was fatal, unintentionally causing their death.

Despite not intending to kill, his criminal record and past involvement in minor offenses led the court to convict him harshly.

While in serving his sentence in a prison in Massachusetts, the Mask affected him out of the blue, pulling him into the Mask Realm in his sleep from thereon out. He has been trapped in the Waterways for a month with Rhea Calloway, unable to escape, forced to watch his surroundings constantly. He struggles with overwhelming guilt, wondering if his entrapment is a punishment for his crime or if something even worse is at play.
