Mavis was born to a modest family in Essex. Her curse was found out pretty early as she was growing blue hair and the soft light coming from her at night. Her family tried to hide her curse to protect their child. Mavis practiced seeing how far her powers could go and learned about the hypnotic elements.

After high school, Mavis was approached by Mr. Orille who gave her an opportunity to work with him. It seemed perfect; large sums of money, safety, and travel. The true nature of the job revealed itself quickly but guilt trips kept Mavis in the job.
