Everything he does is for Dark Court- a subsidiarity of Greed and the largest population within said Sin's delegation. Thanks to Greed's poor attempts at ruling, Alistar shoulders the burden that is keeping his court alive through some less than orthodox routes. He protects his fey indiscriminately, despite the horrible things they do due to their nature, and will stop at nothing to make sure they're cared for.
Alistar is, however, greedy in his own way. He's not one to be persuaded by others, but he can't resist a good deal, especially if it know there's a way he can slip through a loophole and turn it about so that it better benefits him.

Oof, this is going to be a hard one...

As one of the few pure blood demons borne in the last millennia, Alistar tends to quietly shoulder burdens that are beyond even his level of capabilities.
He hears everything but can become dismissive when too much is on his plate.
Perhaps a tad overly ambitious, but considering who he works for that might be more of a pro than a con.

Despite being a pure blood, Alistar doesn't care about whether or not you were born in Hell. People are all exchangeable to him, all equally usable.

Manipulation is the name of the game, and Alistar might as well have created it. As a fey, he physically is bound so that he cannot lie, so his long life has been focused on crafting half truths and opinions meant to sound like honesty in order to get what he wants.
He's ruthless, but always smiling, and likely is the type to grin as he plucks your eyeballs from their sockets.
Nothing about him seems safe, but people fall for his tricks none the less.
He's the sort of trouble that's beautiful, luring you into believing that he might have enough mercy to save you from his war path, but that's, well, a cleverly constructed delusion.
Fear isn't a construct that Alistar has any particular care for: he inspires it in his victims and isn't ashamed to use it against others, but he doesn't seem to be afraid of anything so far.

If you've ever watched the way incense rises in the air, or seen smoke curl and creep seductively as fire is eliminated from the room to allow darkness inside, then you can imagine how Alistar moves.
He slinks and slips into spaces, both physical and mental, imposing in his height despite the lazy, almost stalling way that he prowls about. His lashes are usually drawn low across his strangely colored eyes, giving him a half-awake look that manipulates his victims into believing that he's not a threat, as insignificant as the shadows he represents.
Smiles almost non-stop, but there's nothing kind about it. It isn't cruel so much as it is mocking or taunting, just enough to keep from scaring you off. Smirks come easily and grins are full of sharp teeth that could tear your head from your body.
When he's attempting to draw people in, he tends to move his fingers in hypnotic, circular strains that suggest something flippant or dismissive but draw you in none the less.
Utilizes long sentences that wrap up his victims; confusing and beguiling word play.
Occasionally plays with his own hair in an absent minded manner when lost in thought.

Alistar was born from two pure blood demons of high rank roughly 1000 years ago. He was the first pure blood demon to be born in Hell for about 200 years, breaking what was considered an unlucky dry spell left over from one of the more recent invasions of the angels, and his birth was celebrated far and wide.

It was well known that Alistar was going to be the next ruler of Dark Court: his mother was in power when she birthed him, which led to him being groomed for the role from a very young age. His father is actually Lust's father as well, making Alistar the result of an affair; a very public one at that.

Out of the two, Alistar's father was the much kinder of the pair, and as a young demon he enjoyed the calm, academic time with his father more than the ruthless training spent with his mother. At least, until she was assassinated when he was roughly fifteen (incredibly young for demons).

Not old enough or strong enough to fight for the throne, Ali was subjugated to a particular type of cruelty from the new leader of Dark Court, who seemed to enjoy humiliating him in front of the court that was supposed to be his and taunting him for not being capable to take it with his own hands... likely not realizing that he was driving Alistar to a breaking point that would win him the court only a short four years later.

For 500 years, there was relative peace in the court. Things were quiet and, after those ruinous four years, Dark Court was actually thriving and growing at an extremely fast rate. Enter... Miles, the new Sin of Greed, who promptly began to ruin everything. Dark court is now on the brink of starvation, but somehow remains the largest and strongest part of Greed's empire. Still, Alistar isn't pleased with this turn of events, and it seems like he'll stop at nothing to get the court back to its proper rights...
