Must make eye contact with another intelligent being, then is able to "read" that being's mind, like a picture book. As in, she will see the words and images they are thinking about. She cannot see memories directly, but will be able to read the words they associate with their memories. After breaking eye-contact, the magic lingers. The more often she does this with a person, the more it lingers. So the first time she does it, it may linger 6 seconds, the next time 12 seconds, then 30 seconds, and so on. It caps off at about 95 seconds, with her sister being the longest.

Father's family have a dynasty of controlling the weather in the region, helping the area produce crops and keeping order. The townspeople follow the Kalonimos family, not because they are superior but because they take care of the area. Mother's family are common folk. Mother marries into the Kalonimos family, then overtakes it, forcing the surrounding area under her control. Luna overthrows her mom, and is given authority of the location
