His face is worn down from life with a few wrinkles and a thick pair of black framed glasses perched on his nose

He has the ability to heal others wounds superficially

He is a perfect gentleman. He holds doors open for women. Bowing in introductions after his hand shake. He internalizes everything behind a pleasant demeanor. He has almost a sickening charm to him that can lure anyone into a false sense of security.

He wants on the surface level to help Mages find COMNA to help them. But deeper down he is addicted to the power he can have on people since his healing ability has an addictive quality to it. He wants to take all the power and collect as many followers as he can get.

He hates hummies (b/c why not they are nowhere near as amazing as mages) and really does not like people telling him what to do (again see motivations)

Joe Astor was a rather charming man. He grew up in the Victorian Era so of course he was the perfect gentleman. He served during in WWI as a field doctor and was one of the first to notice the odd blood color. He was on the research team that discovered that magic like his is genetic. This ticked him off because he liked thinking he was one of a kind. But he continued his studies on it. COMNA found him through his research and brought him on as a recruiter. From there he traveled around the country caring for the "oddly ill" or mentally unstable in hopes that they are magical. He hit the money load when he found Mayble. She was the first full mentalist they had ever found. He easily gained her trust thanks to her overbearing parents preventing her from doing anything. He promised to take her away to a place where she could be with other people like her. She agreed and he took her to NOLA where he deposited her in the school for dangerous magic users. He kept tabs on her, thinking that their "friendship" could allow him to use her as a weapon to take over COMNA. So when he was looking for a guinea pig for his newest project he of course chose her and her boyfriend. He then was the one over the bonding project to see if they could make a Human a familiar essentially. After weeks of torture and procedures on the multiple pairs he finally managed not to kill two, thankfully for him it was May and Colin. After all the horrible things that they went through of course their trust in him had waned and actually gets him arrested.

He actually is a doctor. He went to a college for medicine. Then was trained by COMNA to seek out and bring in Human Mages
