Alexandre Simard was born in Bons-Anges Caster Community in 1973 to parents Rene and Blanche. His parents had a messy, loveless marriage as well as an equally messy divorce-- and so, growing up, Alexandre formed for himself a strict routine and an obsession with cleanliness, virtuousness and manners as a way of not only feeling a sense of control, but as a way of gaining attention, affection and appreciation from his stressed and feuding mother and father. Later, this obsession turned into a diagnosis with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

His disorder gradually worsened, reaching the point where small messes or people's actions coming out-of-order, would send him into panic attacks.

Though it was often recommended by schools and professionals that Alexandre's parents get him medical help for his outbursts, they refused, insisting that there was no real issue. Eventually, his mother began home-schooling him in order to avoid these discussions.

After graduating, Alexandre attempted going into nursing, practicing under Dr. Franklin Blythe, though this was obviously short-lived. One day, a patient sprayed blood on Alexandre's scrubs-- and he was thrown into a panic attack.
Blythe, concerned, took Alexandre out into the hallway and calmed him down, using his manipulative magic to convince him that the blood was nothing to stress over.

Though Alexandre understandably could not continue to seek a career in medicine, the doctor kept in touch and the two of them quickly began a romantic and sexual relationship. In time, they built up a level of trust and Blythe let Alexandre in on the truth about his role in The Uncontained. To Blythe's pleasant surprise, Alexandre was delighted and wanted in on the movement.

Though Alexandre was considered 'Too unstable' to travel alongside Blythe and work with him. So, instead, Blythe assigned Alexandre to work as the matron of Blythe's newest project, an institute in northern Quebec where magically-gifted children would be placed and trained to fight for the Uncontained's cause.

Alexandre used his placement as a way of perfectly reinforcing his rules, forcing the children by the threat of punishment to uphold 'perfect' manners and a regime of cleanliness which would satisfy his wishes.
