Ayla was discovered in the Temple’s kitchen as a child. She was caught stealing bread. She was surrounded by the Divine of Dark’s servants when she tried to run. When they caught her the head servant agreed to let the child stay and raise her to serve The Divine of Darkness. She tried to get information on where the girl was from and saw lashes on the girl’s arms. The head servant decided it would be best if Ayla’s family wasn’t informed of where she was. Growing up Ayla was often bored and snuck out of the Temple at night. She usually wasn’t caught but, when she was she was scolded by all the servants. One day a girl named Cordelia was moved into her room. Ayla had never seen her before. Cordelia always had her nose in a book. Ayla doesn’t even think that she realizes she has a roommate. One day Ayla asked her what she was reading and Ayla told her that she was researching the Divine’s history and how she felt that she could fix The Divine’s problems if she knew what caused the Divide. As crazy as it made Cordelia sound, Ayla had wished she could see the world like her. Ayla had simply told her cool and asked if she could know more. Ayla had helped Cordelia every once in a while until she had left to the Earth Realm. Cordelia had told Ayla that she’d come back for her but, Ayla couldn’t be sure. Ayla decided to take up some of Cordelia’s studies. Ayla knew in a few years she’d be forced to serve in the temple because the servants of the Dark Temple took her in as a child.
