Jill was always taught that you had to work to get to the top. She got a job as a secretary in the Archives at 13. She noticed that kids at school and the people at her new job started whispering whenever she walked by. Eventually, a girl came up to her and asked how her job was considering she slept with the boss. She denied it and said she worked hard for her position the girl just scoffed and left. As Jill worked harder and gained more promotions over the years more rumors surrounded her. She learned to ignore them. Eventually, she realized her work had hit a roadblock when she found out in order to get that the job she was working towards and knew there wouldn’t be a position like this in years. She went to her boss to apply for it but he told her that she wasn’t what they were looking for. She asked why that was and was told that a child from the mountains would be taking over that position because they were trained for leadership. She controlled herself from the seething anger left the room. She soon trashed her office and walked out to find a boy slightly older than her sneak in. She asked what he thinks he’s doing and explains his plans to her and that his name is Nat. Fed up with the fact that her hard work won’t allow her to go further than she isn’t right and put up with all those rumors now joined him. One day Nat brought in a child and she eyed him. She has no record of being alive according to the government she could be useful later he told her. She thought it over and agreed it would be fine and looking at the baby smiled and felt that she would care for her to give her that sense of hard work. When the first rebellion fell she hid with Nelle in the other lesser known hideout.
