High school
Alex was angry. He thought of his little sister, Cate, most likely dead. She died of the plague that went through the Flats when he was fifteen. The hospitals that were funded by the government were swamped. He knew the private and well-funded hospitals wouldn’t help because they only deal with people from the mountains but he had to try. His four-year-old sister was dying and they had to help her. When he got there they refused him as he expected. Alex was desperate and snuck into the research area to find that there were plenty of bottles of the cure for the disease. He set his sister down and went to grab some. The door swung open and Alex ducked behind some shelves. The man saw his sister napping and called security before taking his sister and leaving. Alex stood up and heard security he knew he couldn’t get to his sister and make it out of here without getting caught. He dashed before he was officially caught and swore that he’d find her again. He ran into a boy named Nat while making his escape. From that day forward he swore to get revenge on the government for killing his sister and taking so many other innocent lives. When Nat brought Nelle home and he was shaken. She looked so much like his sister. Alex swore that he wouldn’t let anything happen to her. Over the years the two grew really close.
