Crystal was a rebellious princess. She was always trying to run off and play swords with the knights. On one occasion she actually made the point to her father that the knights can do a better job of protecting her if she could protect herself. Her father agreed and angered her mother. Her mother had agreed reluctantly and said for every hour of Crystal’s frivolous training she’d have to spend another hour on her studies. Crystal was a menace to most of her maids. Her personal maid Celeste, hand picked by her mother, grew close to Crystal. They were the best of friends throughout their childhood though as they grew older rumours spread that they were more than friends. One night the rumours were proved true as the queen had checked up on Crystal to find them kissing each other. The next day it was announced that Celeste would be executed for treason and Crystal would be marrying the son of a neighboring kingdom. Crystal refused to go through with it and broke out of the room her mother locked her in. She went to the dungeon hoping she wasn’t too late. She reached Celeste’s cell to find it empty. Crystal looked out the window to see Celeste hanging in the courtyard to make an example of her. That night Crystal left the castle and entered the forbidden woods. She found a hollowed out tree and made that her home base. Soon she learned that the magic that scared her people wasn’t actually that bad from the fairies of the forbidden woods or as the fairies called it, Maidboia Timberland. Crystal has survived through stealing an occasional barter of something of worth for food. Eventually it went to theft.
