Alana was born to her succubus mother, Victoria, and human father, Laurent, and is the half-sister of Nathaniel, a child of her father´s previous relationship.
From an early age her mother made sure to make Alana understand how they were different and that no human could know what they were, least they place the whole community in danger of being exposed and give way to another age of superstition.
She lived a normal life, apart from her Myth side stating to take form during puberty and her hunting schedule. Alana always had a good relationship with her family, even if her father and brother were human it made no difference even if to her all others were to be seen as food.
After getting her high school education Alana decided to drop out to begin working to support herself while writing a book, although her parents still helped financially on certain occasions.
During the next few years up until her earliest twenties she, along with Byung-ho and Eun-ah, her best friends and two half of her hunting trio, went through victim after victim with sadistic glee as a way to rebel and let out aggression, to the point where they´d taken a short covert road trip through more isolated locations and tore their way through new prey (humans). It´s around this point she has a falling out with her mother.
After sobering up along with the other two to the way they´d been near uncontrolled beasts Alana went back to just working and her book but not without apologizing to her mother on her behavior and trying to mend their relationship piece by piece.
At 23 her book is still not near finished and it´s around this time she meets Malik, an art student, at a coffee shop and they bond over her favorite fantasy book. For the next three years they have a relationship, but within the first year Malik almost gets killed by one of Alana´s friends due to her forgetfulness to announce he is off limits. Malik is surprised how even after learning what she is he still loves her and it´s at this point Alana realized she truly loves him.
When she is 25 Malik dies in an accident and Alana is heartbroken. His parents leave town and she doesn´t bother to keep contact, as they never liked her and the feeling had been mutual. Later she realizes she´s pregnant and gives birth at 26, deciding to keep her son, Alexander, out of wanting to keep a piece of Malik alive and always with her but was not prepared for the responsibility. It was also when she was still pregnant Alana finally managed to finish and publish her book, pushing herself to be able to provide for her son.
During her son´s first years of life Alana was constantly supported by her friends and family and also managed to fully heal her relationship with her mother though bonding over the fact they´d both fallen in love with fragile human men and taking care of Alex. Victoria was critical at this stage because if not for her presence Alana might have become depressed and unable to care for the tiny incubus she´d given birth to.
Unfortunately her father passed away a few years after of natural causes, leading to a sobering realization, and Alana vowed then to never again make the mistake of caring for another human due to their fragile and fleeting nature and preventing her son from making the same mistakes as her, not wanting Alex to suffer the way she had.
