Overview
Eska
Council of nine decided on by representatives sent from each village. The rest of the reps bring issues to this council who then votes on whether or not bring an issue to the people. If approved it’s put forward to the population and they vote
Structure
Unitary Democracy
Not very many. People generally trust in their leaders because they're people like them. One would be the fact that they're drawn by lottery. Additionally, the direct votes. Still, not much
Power comes from religious presence and values. Basically, people who seem to be really devoted to the gods are trusted more
Leaders are decided by vote every ten years
Ideologies
Socialism
Leaders regulate people’s private lives. They’re allowed to do as they please, but if they act in an unseemly way, the council and reps interfere
Absolutely no immigration. People may come for trade or visits to only four open cities
- No foreigners may live in Eska
- Natives who wish to leave Eska for any reason other than trade or work may not come back
- Cheating the social regulatory system is punishable by death- attempting to leads to exile
- No thievery, especially of government supplied resources
- No one person may hold significant power over their equal
- No one may disturb the peace
- National image must be kept clean
- No conjugation with foreigners. Offenders must leave with said foreigner or face exile. Any offspring born of the Union can not claim to be Eskan, or Lametlane.
- Lamedani must be respected, but kept separate
- No interference with governmental investigations
Towns can develop their own specialties, but can’t devote too much from the group
Xenophobia, conservatism, nationalism, conformity, creativism
Process
Ten years
The government employs "guardians" to protect citizens. In cases where criminals must be judged, they are in charge of gathering as much evidence as possible before setting them to trial by council. After their verdict, they ask the people what they think and, depending on their answers, continue with it or reassess
Reps are usually voted into the council, and new reps replace them
Populace
More than half the country agree with this system, largely because they're so closed off
Eska is friendly or tolerating of all countries. Despite having negative relations with a few, they're still willing to trade. However, they don’t trust any of them
Very strict and focused on conformity. The idea that they must be useful is hammered into them from infancy. However, they take a certain pleasure in it as they've never known anything else

Civilians are immediately drafted into the military in times of war (with some exceptions.) They train yearly to stay sharp. In war, Lamedani take charge, and are usually the ones sent into the rare foreign conflicts Eska participates in
