Hierarchy

Organization structure

The Cult of Lyn has a complicated organizational structure, with different member classes, roles, and groups that all intersect. Here's what is known broken down:

All members are assigned an ID that's comprised of four parts. To explain, I'll start with an example: δ1-0011LL. First, I'll split it into the four components; δ, 1, and 0011LL.

First, there the member classes. When a member is recruited into the Cult of Lyn, they are placed at the bottom of the class hierarchy as a ρ/P (rho) and make their way up the hierarchy with time and training. Below is a comprehensive list of classes, ordered from least influence to most.

Pupil (ρ, rho)
Pupil in Action (P, rho)

Private (τ, tau)
Sergeant (T, tau)
Lieutenant (γ, gamma)
Captain (Γ, gamma)
Special Ops (o, omicron)
Silent Ops (O, omicron)
Lieutenant General (φ, phi)
General (Φ, phi)

Weapons Designer (δ, delta)
Weapons Director (Δ, delta)
Accountant (α, alpha)
Treasurer (A, Alpha)

Priest (ψ, psi)
Bishop (Ψ, psi)
Cardinal (ω, omega)
Prophet (Ω, omega)

Now, looking at our example member ID (δ1-0011LL), we can see they’re a class delta, a.k.a. a Weapons Designer.

Next, the second character in the ID. This is known as your ascension level. This character is a hexadecimal number from 0 to 6 and represents your progress towards “ascension” in the Lynist religion. The lower your ascension level, the closer you are to achieving your "Day of Ascension," a significant event for members of Lynism, and if it’s a 0 you've already achieved it.
With our example, we can see that our member, δ1-0011LL, is an ascension level 1.

Lastly, the characters after the dash. This is the unique member ID (or UID) and is comprised of six letters and numbers. This is a unique identifier for each member and is often treated as if it's the member's name.
In our example, our member is identified as 0011LL. Note that this is probably an actual member UID in use, as they are estimated to have multiple millions of members.

As a final note, every part of a member's ID is variable except for their UID. They may move up or down the class structure as a reward or punishment, they may get promoted from γ to Γ, or move from ascension level 5 to 3, but their UID will always remain the same.

History

Origin Story

The history of the Cult of Lyn is a closely guarded secret by the higher-ups in the Cult. A public rumor that has gone around is that the Cult began when they busted down a building in the edge Metro-Wilds and uncovered a huge array of mad scribbles of a symbol and mostly illegible notes and writings of a power from before Havenities.

business

Purpose

Motivations

Their motivations are unclear to most (even those within the Cult) but seem to want to spread Lynism and their territory in the Metro-Wilds as far as possible. Some speculate they want world domination similar to Havenities, some think they're secretly under the thumb of Havenities as a way of allowing people to rebel without actually ever leaving the control of Havenities, and some think they are nothing of war-obsessed savages.

Goals

It's not entirely sure what the goals of the Cult of Lyn are in the long run, but they appear to have the goal of claiming as much territory in the Metro-Wilds as possible, while 'recruiting' those who have nowhere else to go, as well as anyone who they deem worth indoctrinating. They often recruit children and young adults in desperate situations and raise them under the beliefs of Lynism while training them to become soldiers.

Daily Life

The daily life of a Cult of Lyn member can vary wildly depending on what class the member is in as well as their group and sector.
For a new member, say a child or newly recruited adult, the day is scheduled to look something like this the majority of the time:

5:00am - Wake up
5:05am - Morning instruction and prayer
5:30am - Breakfast
6:00am - Class 1
8:00am - Class 2
10:00am - Class 3
12:00pm - Lunch
12:15pm - Class 4
2:15pm - Class 5
4:15pm - Free time
7:00pm - Dinner
8:00pm - Lights Out

The Cult designs and manufactures many weapons and tools for their members to utilize, generally giving them a three-letter acronym. They even produce their own unique ZAPs for their weapons.
