Founding Story

Keronde is the name of a rainforest in southern Vansia. Nobody calls it the Keronde Rainforest because that's just NOT COOL. The actual country takes up just about the entire rainforest, plus a little section of savannah. Sometimes it gets confusing because the country and the geographic region are both called Keronde, and sometimes you're referring to the country and sometimes you're referring to the rainforest, and sometimes you're referring to both at the same time. BUT IGNORE THAT because I probably just really confused you and also that's not important. But for clarification, every time I'm referring to Keronde in this history I'm talking about the country.

Anyway, when the Luverin Empire broke, there was no country of Keronde. The rainforest was broken up into a bunch of little kingdoms. None of the kingdoms in the rainforest were chosen by the elementals to conquer stuff, and when they all heard that the other countries were taking over, they said, "Aw snap we better do something."

One nice little kingdom called Zethos says, "Yo yo yo, you guys wanna unite so we're not conquered?" Most of its neighbors decide being conquered sounds like a mighty fine idea, and they ally themselves with Zethos. Word spreads, and most of the rainforest joins the alliance. There are one or five groups that don't want to, but they change their mind when they're nicely asked at swordpoint.

The elementals hear the news that there's a nice little alliance in the south, and they let them do their own thing because they're peaceful.

A whole bunch of years later, the alliance realizes that they're not splitting up anytime soon, so they decide to become one country/confederation/thing. They call themselves the Confederation of Keronde, but everyone just calls them Keronde. They don't interact with Novarren or Terresia much, except for a tiny, tiny bit of trade and a few rare government meetings. They trade more with the little western boiz, who aren't as powerful and like everyone else more. Everyone respects Keronde, because they're nice, peaceful, and also powerful so if they want to they can smite someone. They're probably just as powerful or more powerful than Novarren and Terresia, but they still keep to themselves.

When things started getting mean up in Novarren and Terresia, all they did was build more protections and slowly back away from the brewing war. Both countries asked them for help at some point, but Keronde turned them away and they were cool with it. Everyone is cool with Keronde.

Now they're still partying in the rainforest while Novarren and Terresia burn. They did a smooth.
