Bar & hotel

The local bar and pub, named after the river that runs north of town. It is one of the most popular bars in town and is a major social spot. Serves craft beers, all manners of alcohol, and some finger foods. Come in and enjoy a drink, watch some sports, and chat with a neighbor!

The Statute is wholly in effect across the property, but for what happens in private rooms.

Snow Haven, Alaska

When someone first walks into Tamana Tavern, they are greeted by a group of 3 receptionists. If the guest wants to use the bar section, they are taken to the bar area to a specific table. Guests who wish to stay in the tavern are taken to the left, into the back half of the building.

The main lobby of the tavern is outfitted with a large wrap-around island marble bar counter, outfitted with a 50inch flat screen TV on all four sides. The island bar can sit around 20 people. To the left are regular stone slab tables with matching chairs and a medium sized stone fire place. To the right is a dance floor that can fit 30 people, a stage for karaoke, 7 pool tables, 4 dart boards, and an arcade with racing games and shooters.

The tavern obtained its liquor license in 2015, and is outfitted with six 50in flat screens around the main lobby for patrons to watch at their leisure. Their sound is mute, but subtext can be read. TV's are turned up for sport events such as the super bowl.

Tamana Tavern serves a fine assortment of finger foods, the most notable of which are the Tavern Nachos and the Tamana Dogs (hot dogs with everything on them). Signature deserts include the new favorite chocolate lasagna, and caramel mascarpone cheesecake. All drink and food prices remain competitive with other local businesses. Happy hours on drinks are on Wednesday's and Saturday's every week, serving $3 doubles and $5 signature drinks and cocktails. Food happy hours are every day between 3pm and 6pm. Special dishes are served for holidays. The tavern is also festive, and will be decorated accordingly for every holiday - including Labor Day - where active military and veterans can get a free meal and one drink on the house.

Patrons can choose to sit inside or outside. The outside around is around 600sq foot, outfitted with wooden tables, matching chairs, deep red umbrella's and a large stage for live performances. Local bands can sign up to play every weekend.

Staying In The Tavern

When a guest (or guests) are taken to the back half of the building, the scenery seems to change to that of an upscale hotel - with hard wood floors, stone walls, lounging tables, glass elevators and soft lights. There are 400 rooms in total, and operate much like a hotel - but is more affordable. Rooms at the Tamana Tavern are $60 for two nights for one adult. $100 for two people, two days. $130 for two adults and one/two children. Prices can increase from there. However, the tavern can and will assist those in need by providing a temporary place to stay.

Those who need to get back up on their feet, or just need a temporary place to stay, can sign a 6 month lease with the owner. Monthly payments are as low as $300 a month. The lease can be renewed for a year, paying $400 a month, but the lease cannot exceed two years.

The tavern's main lobby and two chambers can be rented out for social events, weddings included. Many of the locals in Snow Haven have been married in Tamana Tavern.

To work for the Tamana Tavern is considered to be a working part of Snow Haven's history. Employees have competitive pay and benefits (401k, dental, vision, medical) through Aetna.
Some people in town may not agree with the changes made to the Tavern. Others may swear by its name. Do which does your character fit?

The Tamana Tavern didn't come from a kit. It came with decades of use. It is a place that has accumulated the patina of smoke, spilled beer and the histories of the people who drank there. It started as a family owned old-style tavern in days of old that has seen castles fall and towns rise, and has changed hands more than a few times with at least five name changes over the decades.

By 1970, the "Snow Haven pub" was one of the last remaining taverns in the States. In 2014, the citizens of Snow Haven thought their beloved pub a goner when the owner passed on and the mantle was passed to his grieving wife. In mid-2015, a new owner by the name of Calypso Tayse brought the establishment back to life.

Present day, the Tamana Tavern has received a more modern makeover, and has more than doubled in size.
