festivities and dancing from sundown to midnight, then a townwide masquerade starts where everyone wears blues/white/silvers, and the shops sell mooncakes & jewellery. the purpose is to reveal new astronomic discoveries & connect with lost souls through the spirit of the moon (hence the masquerade)
Summer's equinox:
it celebrates half the year being over and wishes luck to a good fall for crops & health with food stands and a carnival
revealed legs is said to be scandalous so people either wear flowy pants or long skirts. jewelery is common, though women typically wear more of it at once. clothing is loose fitting or thin due to the heat
