Overview
Minotaur
Minotaurs are goat-like creatures that live in the dark and spend their days practicing blind art.
Looks
Goat-like creatures that stand on their hind legs and walk upright.
Absent of sunlight, the minotaur race is a pale white / light pink.
The minotaur's arms have evolved to be longer and longer over time to be able to reach the ceilings of their labyrinths with ease.
The minotaurs are all identical, with very little variance in physical or mental output after ages of inbreeding.
In their pitch-black society, no clothes are worn.
Traits
Minotaurs are completely blind, and unable to see in any amount of light.
Also, the amount of inbreeding has left the population in each labyrinth to be relatively equal in immune system and resistances. A disease that affects one will spread quickly and affect them all equally.
Minotaurs' eyes have adapted to see on a different wavelength, allowing them to make out the UV reflections of blood even in the pitch of black.
Culture
While Minotaurs will happily eat all fish, their favorite is the carnivorous Redgill, as their scales are often covered in the blood of their prey and are therefore more visible to the otherwise blind Minotaurs.
Minotaurs are, evolutionary, a largely artistic race. While some spend their time fishing in underground rivers and others excel in making labyrinthian traps, the vast majority spend their time painting on the endless walls of their ever-expanding underground labyrinths.
Minotaurs have mastered underground irrigation and construction, building vast networks of subterranean hallways full of traps and flowing water, from which they fish with nets and spears.
The minotaur race are simple. They spend their days painting the walls of their labyrinths with the blood of unwary intruders that fall into their well-designed "paint gathering" traps.
To relax, the minotaurs will wander the labyrinth halls aimlessly, viewing the blood paintings in a kind of two-tone, trippy experience.
When the walls (and ceilings) are completely full, minotaurs are self-motivated to carve out new tunnels, expanding the labyrinth, to provide new space for art for themselves and their kin.
