Great Hereafteran Massacre

Summary

An event that happens in Zeta's future. After the Purists grow and gain enough confidence, they start making their moves, rounding up and murdering mages en masse to restore the universe's balance. Among these unfortunate mages is Yeron, caught in the crossfire and swiftly overpowered.

Like all deceased, Yeron is sent to The Hereafter. He is half frigiExan, which would normally have him sent to Rera, but the Seraphim feel he would struggle to fit in with the races there, and instead send him to Rit Shiin. It is there that Yeron discovers the other half of his heritage -- that of a Shade.

The unique circumstances of his birth give him the ability to communicate with and control Shades. Yeron realizes he's finally found the chance to unleash the greatest chaos imaginable, and he coordinates and leads an enormous charge that overwhelms the Seraphim guards. Shades swarm Rit Shiin, devouring its residents left and right. Countless ghosts and Seraphim are lost.

Many of those that manage to escape later succumb to their injuries. The bodies that aren't devoured entirely by Shades do, however, survive in another way -- coming together to enable the birth of a new Spirit, one who takes up the name Aida.

Aida's exceptional creation has them feeling disillusioned with their Hereafteran brethren, but also lends them incredible power. They go on to play a major role in the Central Time Loop, all thanks to Yeron's interference.
