History

Date founded

1889

Founding story

The original school was built in 1889, 8 years after the passing of ‘Thomlin Law’ & shortly after Thomlin, the first community to have public schools, finished construction of theirs.

In the beginning, it taught only basic subjects with rather poor material and funding. In 1956, a third floor was constructed after a new law legalized the study and practice of basic, regulated magic in public schools– and new classrooms were needed in order to accommodate. Since then, a few rooms have been split to provide even more classes to students and extra stairwells have been added to adhere to fire-safety standards– something other buildings in Helten have yet to be updated to do.

Currently, there are people petitioning to make the school more handicap-accessible.

Founded by

Lester Hark, close friend of Helten’s first HCI, Giovanni Ricci & second husband of Mildred Thomlin, herself.
