Terra 47

Terra 47 is a terraformed world. Originally a lifeless rock without water or atmosphere. It was moved the appropriate distance from the star Sol 47 to give the planet liquid water. It was then given the an appropriate spin and tilt that would be comfortable for earth life. Comets were used to provide water and air for the planet. The planet was then inoculated with algae and other microorganisms. After a few thousand years more complex life was added to the seas. Then simple plants were seeded on land. Then more complex plants. Then invertebrates, then vertebrates. After allowing the planet to stabilize for several thousand years the official human colonists were awaken from suspended animation and The planets terraforming was overseen by humans and AI that in enclosed self-sustaining cities on the planet's surface, called Arcologies. While the Arcologies are still inhabited today, the residents are not considered official inhabitants of the planet since they have virtually no contain with the world outside. It is considered very similar to life on a space station. Terra 47's official inhabitants were kept in suspended animation until the planet was ready to be inhabited. Terra 47 was designed specifically to be inhabited by humans who want to a pseudo low-tech lifestyle. The environments were crafted to appear natural and self-sustaining but allow humans to live hunter/gather lifestyles with minimum discomfort.
