synopsis
Katie woke to a world that changed overnight. Now with everything she knows turned upside down and with a Witch that decided to tag along on the journey she must find what happened to her master Cain. But that is easier said than done with enemies at her heels and a world thrown to hell in a handbasket. Good thing Katie's a slayer then.
magic
a wand is used as a focus for experienced witches. one who is experienced usually do not use them( though there are exceptions. there are those with their eccentricities, or their vanity. though wands in this case are handled differently than the former). as a rule of thump, one can tell how experienced a witch is by use of a wand or not. they are used by novices because they are something physical for them to focus on and it gives the magic a controlled pathway out of the body. novice users often have a hard time using it as it can't be seen and need something psychical to tell themselves they are indeed focusing in on the right thing and the casting will be applied to something it was not meant to. magic travels through the veins in the body, dormant until called upon, then things can be become difficult. as they don't have the best control, sometimes magic will erupt from novices with serious consequences. the wand gives the magic a defined pathway, as magic much prefers as it is in actuality the path of less resistance, thus helping novices cast. masters will often pass down wands to apprentices and so forth. many are carved to be ordinate. they became not only a focus but a reflection on that apprentice's master and those who owned the wand since its creation."}
