A dark, gritty world most of the time, with comedy sprinkled in.

The supernatural beings of our world were being hunted down, almost to extinction. But Lycaon, the god of Werewolves, stepped in to help the leaders of the supernatural society. He created an alternate universe, another dimension if you will, for these beings to exist in. This created the Legacy universe.

In the beginning, after Lycaon created the universe for supernatural beings, it was chaos. Lycaon had been turned mortal from exerting so much power to create this place. He was not powerless however, as he retained his werewolf attributes. He went to the leader of each race, defeating them in ritual combat, slowly gaining more followers as more people realized his power. Lycaon eventually conquered them all, becoming the Emperor of the Legacy Universe. His first order as Emperor was to create portals for supernatural creatures to steal humans from their realm, for food, sport, or to act as servants. His second, was to make werewolves the top race. His third, and final decree for his first year as Emperor, was to outlaw hybrids of any kind. They were to powerful to exist, and needed to be ended. Now, these supernatural beings have created different street gangs, or mafias, and somehow, things have stayed peaceful. Until the rebellion started 18 years ago. People were siding with the rebellion or the Emperor, street wars breaking out, and a prophecy was revealed by a being so ancient that has been forgotten by even the oldest vampires and werewolves. We reach the present, where the child of prophecy is now walking the streets, trying to find his and his sister's place. Unbeknownst to him, that has already been decided...

They aren't changed at all. This place is supposed to be an exact replica of our universe.

Unlimited. Similar to, for example, the Force, it is an external force that can be used by all. However, it is extremely difficult to access it, and even the Emperor has trouble using it. Magic was only discovered about a year ago.

In this world it is fairly advanced. Mechs and flying cars are commonplace. Cybernetics are advanced, and many use them. Weapons don't use bullets anymore. While most use highly concentrated plasma, some do use fire or electricity.

My main source of inspiration was most likely the Monster Hunter International series, and also the all of the books from the demigod Riordanverse.
