Second Sanctuary Universe

Description

The sandbox of fate, the playground of the Benevolent and the Malevolent. The testing grounds of who deserves to ascend and who need to stay in the test for a little while longer...

Overview

This

Genre

Sci-Fantasy Futuristic Epic

Trivia

  • If you're into giant robots brutally maiming and killing each other, eldritch nightmares in the guise of various deranged characters, science fiction blended grotesquely with various fantastical elements, and various characters having horrifying emotional baggage, then this is the Universe for you!

  • Some of you may notice that for a good chunk of the series that take place within this Universe the names of the main protagonist start with i.
This is purely because I think it sounds cool.

  • The C&E Organization in the "Fatal Exceptions" series was originally supposed to be named the "A&E Organization" (Read: Adam and Eve), however I discovered that this was also the name of a real company, so I changed it to its current name (Cain and Eve).

History

Origin/Creation

After several Great Universal Wars and the rebellion of the Prima Materia-composed AIs, the remaining 5% of the Universe began Project Coalescence. With a Weak-AIs in place in the form of the Ameliorator, Overlooker, and many more AIs. After the inevitable death of the 5% to time, the Ameliorator used hyperspace technology to create a proto-reality to consume the current one, displacing the previous dark-matter composed Overseer in the process. Over the ensuing decillions of years, the Ameliorator managed the universe, seeding it with stars and life, providing all that new civilization needed to thrive.

Misc Information

Inspiration

  • In regards to the Nanitus Series, the concept was originally inspired from Metal Gear, as I envisioned that the Mecharus were mostly non sapient war machines that the human factions used to fight each other with, and that only some of them like Io, Xerxes, the Chigurgicus, and Phobos had free will and consciousness.
The series would have focused on a newly renewed cold war between the United War Confederation and the Communist Worker's Alliance with the robots being caught in the middle. The sapient robots would then rebel in three ways, they would either renounce conflict like Io, fight on their own terms to liberate themselves like Thanatos, or pursue their own scientific machinations like Xerxes and the Chigurgicus.
This would then lead to a third world war between the United War Confederation, the Communist Worker's Alliance, the Blue Watchers (Good Robot Faction), the Red Thumb (Human-Robot Terrorist Faction), the Children of Arach (Amoral Scientific Robot Faction), and the other parties, whether robot or human that had no alliegance.
WW3 would then culminate with the two human parties mostly wiping themselves out with biological and nuclear weapons, the Red Thumbs being completely eradicated with most of their members dead, the Children of Arach going into hiding with the death of their egotistical leader Phobos, and the Blue Watchers cloning and cryogenically preserving the few humans that were still alive, with Io forced to hook up with the bunker system and oversee the creation of an interstellar ark that would ensure the survival of the human race, as Io was the only individual that could logically oversee the ark's creation with the remaining humans in stasis.
Io was reluctant to undertake the endeavor but relented once scans outside the bunkers revealed that the surface was polluted with deadly radiation that threatened to scramble and kill the brain circuitry of any robot that came to the surface for an extended period of time.
Once the humans were all in stasis, Io began to ponder who it was and began to identify itself as a girl for a reason she couldn't quite explain.
Io then realized that all of this was an indirect consequence of her action as the first robot to gain sapience and question her masters.

Notes

  • Some of the AI Image Placeholders for the Characters, Objects, or Locations may not be exactly accurate to their canon appearance.

  • If the pages seem to have major discrepancies between events, this likely means that I haven't updated them.
