every time i cast off the end of my work becomes tight and hard to stretch, is there a trick for that or is it normal?

I can knit, but I haven't in a while and I don't remember having any tightness after casting off, sorry :/

Yeah it's normal. I found that not holding or pulling on the yarn and just working across a lot more loosely than you normally would kinda fixes the problem. I hope this helps :)
