Any tips on writing fight scenes?

I'm working on my first book and my characters have to stay safe in the apocalypse. Anyone have tips on writing fight scenes? I have no idea what I'm really doing.

Well, it depends what they're fighting. Who or what are they fighting to defend themselves?

Generally, I would try to keep sentences short and punchy to keep the scene moving. I try to avoid words like "suddenly" because it can feel a little excessive and not necessary to what is occurring. Pay careful attention to where everyone's limbs, weapons, and enemies are, because it's easy to get confused about the location of everything in your scene.

@RainyDayArtist Basically zombies

OK, that's what I assumed. Is there a 'one thing' that defeats them?

@Beck_Wells

@RainyDayArtist There is, but they don't know about it yet. It's only a few days in so they don't really know what they're doing either.

I'd say listening to @vidari-is-tired-in-advance's advice would honestly be best, it's really good. There isn't much I would say otherwise.

@Beck_Wells

Alright, thanks to the both of you!!!!
