Hey, could someone make a list of all the things you can do to text in the forums? Like, adding pictures, changing the size of words, making things bold, etc.

@Pandapocalypse

The only ones I know about are this and

  • For strike through you use the ~ symbol two times around the words or sentence
    ~~ like this but without the spaces, I put in the spaces so u can see it ~~ So It would look like this

I'll post more later, I gtg

@Pandapocalypse

thx!

Bold is two asterisks on each side. Much like italics, but with two instead of one.

** Bold ** (minus the spaces)

To make a spoiler, just put <*spoiler> (minus the asterisk) in front of whatever you want and </spoiler**> (again, minus the asterisks) behind it.

@Pandapocalypse

woah i didn't even think that that was a thing you could do

There's another trick to make things bold, but I only use it if I want the entire line to be bold, as it does that. < b > (w/out the spaces)

Bold #2

You can also use italics with it. Ta-da!

Yeah, it's super cool!
I often find out things by using the 'quote' button from a post and seeing how someone else did it.

These are great tips to know! I'd like to add, how does one do bullet points like Panda has in the second post?

And there's the Rad text font that uses `s on either side of the script.

@Riorlyne The two kinds of bullet points are starting a line with an asterisk (*) or a hyphen (-)

  • like this
  • or this

Or by starting a line with a number and a period (1.)

  1. like this
  2. and this

You can also indent your lists by pressing space twice before the markers

  • like this
    • and 2 spaces over
      • and 4 spaces over

Fun fact: three hyphens (—) on its own line will also make a neat little page break :)

@Pandapocalypse

I add a + to the line to start (quote to see)

@andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) Thank you for those tips! My posts are about to get a whole lot more organised-looking. :)

Using the tall line thing after a line will make it a fancy centered header. (It's in the key above return/enter; I can't type it here without it taking effect.)

Also, almost every HTML tag works. I spent probably too long organizing a list of all of them, and then realized that the few ones that hadn't were the fancy style and formatting ones that aren't really necessary for a forum post. :D I still have the list and can edit it into here as an invisible comment or spoiler if you guys are in the mood for a 5 minute skim of an HTML lesson xD

@glebm

This formatting syntax is called markdown. You may find this quick reference handy.

Just a note to let you guys know I’ve made a handy post that goes through most of the fun formatting options, in case you’re interested: https://www.notebook.ai/forum/tutorials/notebook-ai-tutorials#post_674934
