I am thinking of writing a story regarding 7 gods (or advanced, formally etherial beings from a higher plane) that get their consciousnesses shattered by seven rivals. They come to earth and bond with seven mortals who eventually figure things out (when they all meet) and have to take down the rival seven (one to save the world, two because they find out the gods are semi-alive). The setting is a high-level international college and the characters each come from one of the continents (except Africa has two).

That sounds very interesting! I would definitely read it! What kind of feedback do you want? My first thought was try to incorporate the cultures of the mortals who got bonded with- so do your research, I think

Another thing to consider is what time this is in. Guess if it's in the future, but if it's another time, do some research. Research the cultures of the countries these seven come from and, depending on how long these gods have been out of commission if they're not revered as they once were, try to figure out what they're personalities are. How are these individuals gonna communicate? Being from the seven continents, I doubt they'll all speak English. Does being possessed/chosen by the gods add in a translation circuit or whatever (like what the TARDIS does in Doctor Who)? Does this translation work perfectly? Or is it like Google Translate? Does it translate words without an equivalent in English?

They do all speak English because they all meet at a university for students from around the world. being possessed/inhabited by the gods made them more intelligent, they can easily complete complex math and science, however, most of them are pretty lost on how they actually accomplish these things (there is a spectrum of understanding across the characters.) So they do actually all speak English because they are attending a high-level university and they all attended very prestigious schools (even the ones in very difficult countries). Does that make sense?

also, for the character representing Asia do you think someone from Japan or India would be better?

Yes, that makes sense.
I think either would be fine tbh. I do think that I see less Indian characters in literature though, so it would be nice to get some representation there I think.
