Hello! For some reason, your username wasn’t coming up when I tried to message you, so here’s the chat you requested instead
Calling Ella Erransmith!
Hi there! I’m really still sorry about the other chat. I just have seen some of your stuff before and you looked like someone I would enjoy talking to. I hope I didn’t embarrass you or anything!
Honestly, it’s fine, don’t worry about it! I’m actually really flattered that someone wanted to rp with me, and there’s no harm done
You’re new to Notebook, right?
Oh, okay! I was just worried it’d interrupt your flow of messages.
Yeah, I’m pretty new. I just joined a few days ago off a recommendation from an older friend of mine. I don’t use it much for actual writing, but this whole role playing thing is kind of fun. It’s an interesting way to open yourself up to new possibilities and characters.
Yeah, I totally get what you mean (if I’m being honest, I’m actually a bit addicted to rping as of right now.. lol)
Welcome to this awesome site, then!
Thank you very much! I’m glad to have joined!
So, I don’t know much about your style other than I’ve liked what I’ve seen. What type of role plays do you enjoy?
Thanks uwu
I mostly roleplay modern, fantasy, or historical, but I’ll do pretty much anything except for sci-fi, since my style isn’t really suited to it. I tend to avoid action and horror for the same reason, but I’m still open to them
I could copy and paste a sample of some of what I consider to be my best roleplay work, if you’d like?
What genres do you prefer?
I’m similar to you in that I’m a realistic, modern, and fantasy person, but I do actually enjoy science fiction and action if they have another genre, like romance, mixed in. Horror, historical fiction, and romance on its own aren’t my thing.
I’d actually love to see some of your work! Here, as a fun little activity I’ll type something short up myself so you can see if you’d like to start one with me.
Sounds good
Wait— is this the rp starter or just a test run?
Oh, no, just examples! Not replies or the actual role play. I’ve found that I prefer to have a bit of set up before starting any role play.
Oh got it, sorry
Emanuel closed both of his brilliant blue eyes. There, in the back of his mind, all the way where the darkness clustered so deeply that it made it hard to think, hovered the magician’s mark. He reached out inside his head and felt its shimmering warmth envelop his whole body. That alone annoyed him to no end. Such a malicious symbol should singe his skin and rot his teeth, not give him a hug as lovely as something he’d receive from his mother. He pushed further in hopes that it’d reveal its dark side, but nothing happened. All that had changed were his hopes, which had plummeted into his shoes.
With a long, drawn out sigh, Emanuel let his eyelids lift. He was still on his old bed in the room that he’d inherited from his older sister, Sam. When he sat up, he could tell that not even his vision had shifted; everything, from the peeling paint of his desk to the messiness of his dusty bookshelf, was the exact same as he’d left it.
He collapsed back onto his sheets with a groan. Fighting the magician, as it appeared, would be much harder than it seemed.
Something quick I whipped up really fast. Sorry if there’s any bad grammar, I didn’t check it very well.
It looks great, actually, I love how descriptive you are! I can copy and paste something from another rp of mine?
Just a warning, it’s really dark.. what’s your limit on sensitive content?
Aw, thank you! I’m not sensitive to much! Feel free to paste whatever you’d like.
Awesome, I’ll be back in a mo
As soon as she was gone, Marcus sighed and pushed himself off the bed, shaking out his sopping hair again. His whole smooth, calculating demeanour dropped off him like a heavy cloak, easily shed, easily put back on, and he allowed his shoulders to relax as he made his way to the bathroom connected to his suite. Once in front of the polished mirror, he placed both hands on the sink and leaned his full weight onto it, impeccable back posture giving way to an exhausted slouch. He studied his face in the mirror, mind playing over the events of the day.
Moisture and water droplets still clung to his skin from the infuriating but hilarious attack on him, and water was currently dripping off of his chin and making a small puddle on the pristine white surface of the sink. There were dark bags under his eyes from nights of neglected sleep, and although he did not have a particularly pale complexion, he gave of the impression that he had been starved of sunlight and kept inside for days, which was not entirely true. He'd left the manor to visit a drug dealer and survey the knew weapons store a short walk from his house, but other than that he'd been indoors for the past week. His hair had been well-groomed before Winnifred had sloshed the bucket of water all over him, but now it was messy and weighed down by the moisture.
Marcus sighed and fished around for a fluffy white towel to dry himself with, and a half hour later he was dry, warm, in more casual clothing better suited for a nocturnal insomniac like him, and was sitting on his bed, trying to plot his uncle's murder.
(Not my best work, if it’s not enough I’ll be right back with another)
That’s fine! I’m really pleased. Not a lot of people have longer replies with such detail woven in. That’s fantastic, actually! It wasn’t too dark at all, don’t worry.
Oh alright, thanks :)
Oof it was either that or a super in-depth suicide attempt so I decided to go for the one above
So, judging by one of your earlier responses, I’m guessing there won’t be romance in this roleplay?
Oh, okay. I really liked what you just showed me, and I’m sure the other is fine as well.
So, does that mean we can start talking about ideas? Or are you unsure if I’m the right kind of person for you? Feel free to be honest, I swear I won’t judge you based off of what you say.
There can be romance, but I would prefer it not to be of only the romance genre. Maybe we could think of something to do with fantasy (if you’d like, of course)?
You’re one of the only role players I’ve chatted with who’s this open and polite I’m impressed XD
I think you’re great, and I’d love to start discussing ideas! However it is almost 3am for me and I have school tomorrow, so if I disappear at any time assume I fell asleep :P

Oh yeah totally, that sounds great!
Oh, why thank you! I can’t wait to get into the details; however, if you’re feeling tired then maybe it’d be for best if you went to bed soon. I wouldn’t want to keep you up! If you’re not tired, though, then I would like to start listing a few ideas for subjects.
Feel free to list as many ideas as you want, in aiming to sleep at around 3ish so that I get at least three hours of sleep
Okay, then!
• Two people live in a city in which those with magic are found, beaten, killed, or worse. They try to hide their magic, but doing so can end up in severe discomfort and, if held for long enough, death.
• There are three different kingdoms left after a really destructive war. The first is the Kingdom of the Sky, the second is The Sunken City, and the third is the Desert Palace. All three are trying to build themselves up, but a new threat—a dangerous villain—is threatening to destroy the peace.
• Magic is hard to come by. It can only be found when desperate, particularly once situations of great struggle. Our characters find themselves on different sides of a situation, like a kidnapping, drug den, etc. that drives them to unlock their inner selves.
• Brawling with the use of certain enhanced abilities is common in the country of Astropia. Thousands of people come to watch certain fights, and they’re almost always entertained. Our characters, two battlers, meet one day on the battlefield. They’ve heard of each other, but neither expected what they get.
There’s a few starter themes! Any catch your eye?
I love the first and the last especially!
The first was actually probably my favorite. I think it’d Ben interesting if there was also a class aspect to it, you know? Like, anyone who might have been born from parents with magic—or anybody who was related to a witch or sorcerer—would be kept economically poor. This would make it hard for them to sustain any lifestyle, efficiently killing off those with even a chance of having magic. And those that resist, particularly people with large, visible amounts of magic, would be straight out murdered in the town squares.
**be interesting, sorry!
