CHARACTER NAME POLL :3

@jupiter-sun-of-sweater-town group forum 10 comments schedule

I'm working on a character for one of my stories and I'm split between three names for her. It's a historical fiction set in Victorian-era England, and the character in question is the main character's governess (except she's not super stuffy and strict). Should her name be:

  1. Clementine
  2. Evie
  3. Ida
Please give me your opinions (or maybe other suggestions!)

Hmmmmmmmmm…..I'm trying to decide which one sounds the least stuffy and strict…….I like the sound of Clemintine.

Oh god I actually have a character named Clementine and her nickname is Clem

  • Clementine is a name of French origin meaning 'mild, merciful'
  • Evie is a name of roughly Hebrew origin meaning 'life'
  • Ida is a name of German origin meaning 'industrious one'

I'd say Clementine

I'd say Evie since skimming through some stuff, Evie has been more used near the Victorian era, while Clementine and Ida have been names that got popular in the 2010s.

I agree, probably Evie.

I'd have to go with Evie, but if I had to input a name I'd also maybe go with Clara!

Oooh I like Clara. Could definitely work cause Clara is the name of a character in Great Expectations - book from literally like 1860 or something.

Evie seems to have the most votes, so that's what I'm going with. Thank you to everyone for your opinions!
