The religion doesn't exist anymore, but a couple of their buildings do. The religion itself isn't relevant to the story to be honest, since it's been gone for a long time

Does it affect aspects about the building? Is it just to add quirks to the setting? Does the religion/it's lasting influences affect the story or the characters at all?
Just some thoughts, you want to be careful not to let a story get too bloated with world building. :)
