Chinese dragons?

Okay, so one of the characters in my novel is based on a Chinese Dragon. What features should I give her, and would she breathe fire or something else?

Help?
Why is everyone ignoring me?

FREAKING HELP?

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

Hi
So I know very little about this stuff
Is the character a hybrid of some sort? Or just a dragon?
If it’s just a dragon, then I would recommend looking up pictures of traditional Chinese dragons
Maybe even researching a few myths to answer the fire breathing question

She's a humanoid who can turn into a dragon. I'll make a character page for her.

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

In that case, I would build her appearance off of dragons. Angular nose, slanted eyes, narrow lips, wiry (or muscular if that works better) build, maybe even red hair.

Noooooooo, I meant her dragon form. I want to try something different from traditional Eastern dragons.

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

Oh
Well
Look up traditional Chinese dragons

What does "something different" mean to you?

@ScarletAndHerSides

THERE ARE MANY CHINESE DRAGONS MY FRIEND

Are you looking for a specific type?

@ScarletAndHerSides

Plus Chinese dragons are usually ribbony.

They have a long ribbon body with short little legs.

It honestly depends what legend and stuff.

Oh sorry read that wrong
Look them up and then do something different

Falong Here's the character, maybe her dragon form would represent her, but idk how to?

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

She sounds great! In regards to her form itself, the only revision I would make is that ‘She will never be able to live up to Ageo's legacy’ isn’t really a prejudice.

Anywhooo
You said in ‘identifying marks’ that she had blue, feathery wings? So maybe her dragon form blends cooler colors (wings are blue, fade to a teal (?) body, fade to a greenish head, etc.)

If you want to have a chinese style dragon with your own twist, maybe look up Aztec "dragons" aka feathered serpents & see if some of their features fit your taste, since both types are pretty serpentine. Also: Chinese dragons don't neccessarily breath fire, you are pretty open to all the elements with them.

For a second, I thought water, the main element of Chinese dragons, was pretty weak, then I remembered tsunamis and hurricanes exist.

@Byakuren Houjuu Beta Tester

There are quite a few myths about Dragons other than Water Dragons tbh. Fire, Storm/Lightning, Wind are pretty common. You could also just adapt some of the other traditional Chinese elements & make your own: Water, Fire, Wood, Air, Metal.
