I think that the characters are a good balance of just-casual-people and protagonist-material.
I'd love to know how they all met (even if they went to the same high school there should be a story me thinks ;)).
Not sure you thought about it, but I noticed they all have something with music, so other than their personalities and/or backstories they also have mutual interests, good job!
I have no idea where the story would be going but for now I'm gonna say: "Greeks! let's uhm… WRITE STUFF"
