once i was at a party (for the people at my mom's office) and my mom said "okay sweetie you have to go say hi to three people before you can read your book" and i just

they were all like 3- or 4-year-olds but it counts

I am a fellow introvert. My parents made me stop reading during lunch to make me actually talk to people. They took away my book and said that I had to actually talk to people. Does this happen to anyone else?

My dad won't let me read at the table. He acts like it's a horrible crime

Okay but he says that anything that doesn't help us eat shouldn't be on the table but he got my mom flowers for Valentine's Day and when he got mad at me for putting my book on the table because "it's not helping us eat" and I said "Well those flowers don't help us eat so why are they on the table" and he was just silent for a long time like darn it

That's why, if I ever win the lottery, I'm building a secret compartment in my room so I can hide somewhere other than the closet or the dog kennel
