try to think of a cliche that a lot of characters of a certain demographic end up victim, and try to think of a way to subvert, obviously add more than that but that's a way I often like to start

this what i have for one of my stories
prologue
I opened my eyes but it was hard to see. I made out a figure be side me, a familiar figure. Before we continue I should explain what had happen to me so you will understand why I am in this strange house with a familiar figure.
Chapter 1
“Hey mom, I am going outside .”
“OK, be safe.”
I walked outside past the gate that separates the woods and the back yard. I walked farther into the wood, to a stump that I had mark to help me find a place that only I knew that about . I focused one something on something that made me happy, than I transformed in to a white wolf with bright blue eyes.

you could call it "hound" and make the rest of the story sort of about your main characters inner demons ect. (like
be hounded:To be pursued, chased, badgered, or pestered (by someone or something), especially persistently or relentlessly. ) that could also play into how they turn into a wolf aka a hound
