I want to add a dragon with character and spunk into my story but I don't know how to do it without copying others that I've really liked. please help!!

I actually struggled with the same thing. My dragon characters are actually public right now, so I guess you could go look at them?
I think you can include what you really like about some of the other dragons but also add in some original things too. Hope this helped
