I'm trying to make a fantasy story where a prince is trying to warn the Empire of the kingdoms of his father plan to take over the throne

Make it interesting, either with the characters involved or their plans. Don't have it be a bunch of serious dudes mulling over a Risk board, have your characters bounce off of each other with plans.
