I HAVE A PROBLEM

I've started creating a character, but she seems really cliche, can someone help?!

If she's meant to be cliche (like a cliche mean girl) then let her be. If you want her to be strange and original, add small quirks to things like her mannerisms, and maybe a strange quality that she has. Maybe give her a strange hair color- like purple, or maybe even give her some sort of magic! Small quirks can make a character really interesting and less cliche!

Well, what do you think is cliche about her? Maybe if you told us what we could be able to help!

if she's cliche, maybe keep some traits and just put some really unique traits with that cliche background. For example, a girly girl who likes wrestling or the nerd being like really pretty and/or very sporty.

Try adding weird hobbies and/or quirks. For example, mention that she really loves the bluegrass banjo or she tried fencing once and really enjoyed it

Maybe you could play up the cliche to a point where the other characters even see her as the cliche and later reveal that it is actually an act. For example, a girly girl cheerleader who only acts like that to please her mother and is actually a bookworm with a love for indie music.

Thank you all so much, I like the idea that others see her as a but cliche. She has a lot of secrets and things start to go downhill when people find out, so that idea will work really well
